July Sunday Service Schedule:
All services take place at 10:30 am in person and online. Fellowship Hour Following the Service
July 9: “A Little Night Music,” Chris Tackett & Monica Bauer
One power of music is to bring us to rest. Chris, our Music Director, will be leading this service.
July 16: “What Dreams May Come…” Robin Bousel & Debbie Roberts
Each Sunday Robin will be interviewing people in our congregation about what they dream for MVUU in the coming year. This Sunday, the service will offer many of these interviews.
July 23: “Resting in Our History” Zsombor Zoltan & Peter Becskehazy
We will be taken back to our roots of Unitarianism in Transylvania to be held in the dreams of our ancestors.
July 30: “Rest Is Resistance” Rev. Matthew & Samar Adi
We begin to awake from our month of resting with a service inspired by Rev. Tricia Hersey’s nap ministry and her book Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto
Contact [email protected] to subscribe to our newsletter. That’s the best way to stay updated. You’ll find links to virtual and YouTube services there notifications about opening our building for in-person attendance as well as other MVUU gatherings.
We welcome you to our Sunday Services whether in our sanctuary, on Zoom, or on our YouTube channel. Here you might sing a few hymns, listen to our choir—and maybe even tap your foot to our band. A reflection or sermon is usually delivered by our minister, one of our members, or a guest speaker. Maybe you’ll come on a Sunday that is interactive or when members present readings and choral selections. Another Sunday may include a celebration of a life event or be devoted to a justice issue. You might catch a humorous enactment expressing one of our values. In other words, no two Sundays are the same at MVUU.
What is the same is that You Are Welcome here.
All ages are welcome: Children and youth may attend the entire Sunday service or participate in age-specific programming. We provide children’s activities with background checked volunteers every Sunday for our community members ages 2-10.
Wear what you please: At MVUU you’ll see casual clothes, shorts and jeans, and maybe even skirts and neckties.
Our building is accessible: We can accommodate wheelchairs, canes, and walkers. We have assistive listening devices. Our restrooms are accessible, family-friendly, and gender neutral.
Introduce yourself if comfortable: We invite visitors to introduce themselves so that people in the congregation can welcome you. Participation is always optional!
Stay for Coffee Hour: We want to meet you, so stick around. Coffee Hour is practically a UU ritual where we gather casually and make connections in an informal atmosphere. Stay for a coffee, linger on the garden patio, or play on the swing-set.
