Our Whole Lives (OWL)

Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision-making, and has the potential to save lives. For these reasons and more, we are proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula for use in both secular settings and faith communities.

Interactive workshops and activities engage participants, while step-by-step instructions for program planners and facilitators help ensure success. Seven curricula speak to participants’ needs, by age group:

  • grades K-1
  • grades 4-6
  • grades 7-9
  • grades 10-12
  • young adults
  • adults
  • older adults

Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their relationships, sexual health and behavior. With a holistic approach, Our Whole Lives provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality.

Fall 2023

Adult OWL

Snowy OWLsadults ages 21+

Starts August 5 to August 26 | 10:00am to noon | on Zoom (link to be provided)
Join other adults (21+) for a lively discussion series on how values inform our decisions in relationships –romantic and otherwise. This group starts with topics selected by the facilitators, and then allows ample time for self-reflection, discussion, and questioning.

Adult OWL is an holistic sexuality education program for older adults that models and fosters caring, compassion, respect, and justice. It balances knowledge-building with exploration of attitudes, values, and feelings about one’s own and others’ sexuality. This program is comprehensive and progressive, addressing sexuality with candor, sensitivity, and respect for older adults’ wisdom and life experience.

In an inclusive and developmentally appropriate manner, the Our Whole Lives curriculum series addresses sensitive topics that are typically excluded from sexuality education. This series will examine topics such as: Sexuality and Values; Attitudes about Aging; Examining Sexual Scripts; The Sexual Body; Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity; Intimacy; Sexual Consent and Boundaries; Family Matters; Sexuality and Loss; Reframing Sexuality, Disability, and Chronic Illness; Body Image; Dating as an Older Adult; Safer Sex; and Sex Play Beyond Basics.
