MVUU INVITATION & AGENDA FOR JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL (JCC)/ JUSTICE ISSUES ASSEMBLY MEETING (JIA)

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?”

                 — Martin Luther King, Montgomery, Alabama, 1957

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2019, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

THEME: “Tell Your Justice Volunteer Story, the One That Broke Your Heart.”

AGENDA

  1. Meet at 2:30 p.m. sharp in the BSL Sanctuary; sign in and gather together in the front middle pews. Following up on Rev. Ron’s Sunday, January 13 Reflection, find three people near you and reflect on Ron’s final question: “What breaks your heart,” calling you to action in the service of others?
  2. Ask for hands of a few people willing to tell their stories from the podium.
  3. Call for Action: Attendees will hand-write their stories to their Representative in the U.S. House, expressing personal concerns about and responses to immigration asylum-seekers here in Tucson.**

**Through this UU Social Justice (UUSJ) Campaign, called “Write Here, Write Now,” UU Congregations have an opportunity to have UUSJ hand-deliver letters to their elected representatives in the U.S. Congress on issues of importance. More information can be found on the UUSJ website at http://uusj.net/wp1/advocacy-day-february-12-2019/.
