Enriching Our Lives with Birds: Birds can positively impact our lives in various ways. Learn as two experienced guides help you understand how the familiar birds of SE Arizona enrich us. Also practice the skills for identifying various wild bird species and then enjoy local field trips which will not be physically strenuous. You do need sufficient mobility to walk on outdoor terrain for about 1½ hours.

Exploring Taoism and the Taoist Healing Arts:  Often called the path to harmony, Taoism is an ancient Chinese phil-osophy. We will discuss its history and teachings. We will also sample the healing arts of qi gong, tai chi, and Taoist meditation. Participants will consider selected passages from the Tao De Ching and share their knowledge, thoughts, and questions about what the chapters might mean. Links will be provided to pertinent texts.

Good Grief! Dealing with the Inevitable: The inevitable experience of loss can be terrifying, so much so that we choose to ignore its very existence or anxiously await its occurrence. This presentation explores grief: what it is, how to manage it and tools to help us cope. By being prepared with useful information we can decrease the dread of this profound emotion and perhaps use the experience of loss and death to ultimately enrich our personal journey through life.

Wayfaring Our Spiritual Journeys: We UU’s subscribe to the seven principles. How do we each go about internalizing and living them? If you could characterize your approach to living a principled life in just a few words, what would they be? To draw upon the journey metaphor – Sojourner? Explorer? Wander-luster? Pilgrim? Adventurer?  The common expression, spiritual journey, is reputed to offer us various life stages of spiritual development. Let’s take a closer look at these themes and see how they square with our own recollections of development.
